Home Again

Well, I gotta tell you….it feels really good to have a home again. I’ve been kind of waiting it out to see what or if I would be able to get one of the Linden homes. I chose one in MeadowBrook….though it was a tough choice between that or Aspen. I really liked the park-like areas there…but wasn’t so sure about the A-frame houses. I probably could have built a loft as long as I didn’t attempt to attach it to the main structure.

Anyway…I am totally happy with the house I picked out. It is the Grayson style…and plenty big for me!

This picture shows just the upstairs area…and it even has a patio off the second floor! Continue reading

Linden Labs New Homes

Unless you are living under an SL rock, you are aware that Linden Labs is going to be offering a home for their premium account clients starting February 17th…all that have 512m available that is. I, for one, think this is a wonderful program that Linden Labs is offering!  🙂  There are four different styles to choose from. Today I decided to make a visit to see them.

The first style/area offers a Japanese themed home and neighborhood. Beautiful…but kind of laggy for me *shrugs* (Shareta Osumai). Continue reading

New(est) Home

I have just recently begun to work a bit with megaprims within Second Life. From what I have heard, the newer megaprims are much less laggy (that sounds strange! :-))  Anyway, I made a small skybox which I really like. I’ve had larger places, but find I don’t really need the room…and I don’t have enough prims! (who does)… Continue reading

POE Hunt / Picture 30 of 365

One of the things I like to do while on SL is the grid-wide hunts. It’s fun and relaxing to miraculously teleport from store to store, searching for the item that holds a goodie….and the “clue” to your next destination. I have found some really great places this way. If I owned a shop, I would absolutely want to be involved in one of these hunts. It is a great way to get your name out there and make people aware of your presence!

Speaking of presents (!)…the beautiful dress I am wearing is POE gift #199 from Crissy Designs; The Christmas-y skybox is from Kosh (one of their Christmas calander gifts which I’m pretty sure you had to get on a certain day; the Christmas hangout scene is a subscribo gift from MB CreationzIt includes two sit poses, the presents and the tree. I really love this store. They also had a Halloween hangout scene for their subscribo patrons….so  just hit the subscribo and you should be ble to find the Christmas hangout  in history?   Continue reading

Home_Oct0209

Well, I finally feel as though I am settling in to my new place. It is changing rapidly, with more people moving in and buildings are going up. So far everyone seems super nice though!  🙂  I like having the water nearby…and the palm trees.  Summer year round…even when it gets cold…or even snows… in RL.  🙂

I just have a small 512 lot…but I have my white picket fence around it!

My Yard…

MyHome_July109

Just thought I’d share a picture of me in my yard. I have a small 512m lot…and wouldn’t mind having a bit more space (and especially prims!  117 sometimes just isn’t enough!!). I have a small skybox above, and have a meadow of flowers in the yard below. I also have a little spot amongst the flowers to drink some tea and read a good book.  I have a screen of trees which surround my lot….makes the view so much more pleasant!

Anyway…just thought I’d share. 🙂

New NCI Citizen

Building_House_1

So….what have I been up to lately in SL? (besides solving the Pot Healer’s quest!!)  I’ve been building on a platform 900 feet in the sky on my little 512m lot! Even though I’m not “new” to Second Life, I joined the group New Citizen’s Inc.   They offer oodles of classes and opportunities to learn all about building, scripting, sculpting, etc. What better way to learn than to attend the free classes offered!

This is a basic first house to build. The colors are helpful for lining each prim up correctly. No worries….will retexture it all so it will actually look normal. Also, you build on a 10% scale, and then stretch it to normal size!  Pretty cool huh?

If you attend the class, you will get a kit which includes the stairs sculpty, the door script, and all the textures you will need to make your house look great. I’ll post a picture when I’m finished!  🙂
